| I've been wanting to write some blog entries lately, but haven't gotten around to it on any of those occasions. I'll try for one today... even if it's brief.
woke up got a ride to campus cappuccino at starbucks read some 'do androids dream of electric sheep.' talked with jackie went to the lab read some thesis related papers wrote some code and notes had lunch at sbarro went to beantown coffeehouse for an americano came back to campus worked my advisor passed by and asked how things were going. i told him "eh" and elaborated a bit. he told me something along the lines of "get something basic working and build on it." I explained that i do have something working yadda yadda; "keep me posted." worked had dinner with john came back to chat with an experienced grad student climbed with seth, aryesh, and paul went back to lab worked ate a hotpocket talked with jackie; she's climbing had a mass exodus to the roofgarden entryway here i sit writing this.

| um. ok. so i try really hard to not hurt myself through computing. I climb, to increase finger strength. I use qwerty and dvorak for typing (and switch back and forth regularly). I use a nice keyboard (M$ Natural ergonomic keyboard 4000 ver 1.0). i've written a stretch reminder program that beeps every x minutes, where i have set x to be equal to 5 minutes. and still
and still... i seem to incur symptoms of tendonitis in my right arm.
what do you guys do? any ideas?
let me know by posting some comments.

| Ah ha! this is what i need to develop: polyphasic sleep. Apparently this is the type of sleep pattern that greats such as Leonardo Da Vinci and Benjamin Franklin used too. But, I'm tempted to think that the great geniuses of all time were just special and that either woke from their sleep with great ideas, or were just odd from the start. What do you think? What are your sleep schedules like?
I think that mine is pretty erratic. For the past few weeks, it hasn't mattered when I have gone to sleep, I have awoken at 1pm consistently. This is the case for when I have gone to bed at 11pm.... or at 5am. I guess my sleep rhythm is off such that i go into deep sleep around late morning.
I have also noticed that I feel more rested when I have slept a multiple of 3 hours. This probably has to do with my REM cycles, etc. Sleep is an interesting topic and I wish that I knew more about it. I guess I can always do more google'ing. |
